River Tweed - Guided 2 Day Canoe Adventure
The Scottish Borders for centuries were the sites of battles and
raids, this trip takes us through both Scotland and England on one of
Britain's best Rivers. Throughout the journey, we see the river banks
change from winding fields to rocky outcrops and features ancient
Ghillie huts.
Starting near Kelso, this river journey
incorporates a mixture of rapids caulds and drops as well as peaceful
paddling through stunning scenery and finishes in the Tweed Estuary at
Berwick upon Tweed. We will camp on islands and at the riverside, where
you can relax and enjoy the evening's peace quiet, and splendor.
There
will be plenty of opportunities to improve your paddling skills with
our qualified and experienced guides, who are eager to share their
knowledge.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Meet at Paxton House, near Berwick upon Tweed. We will issue equipment pack bags and then transfer to Kelso, where we start our paddle. Overnight we will be camping on an island.
Day 2: We continue towards the coast, finishing in the estuary at
Berwick, here we often see dolphins and seals playing in the estuaries
well as local net fishermen, fishing from traditional rowboats for
Salmon.
