🌊 Kayak Coasteering in Northumberland

An Unforgettable Coastal Adventure

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience! Kayak Coasteering combines sea kayaking, rock climbing, sea-level traversing, and thrilling cliff jumps — all along the stunning Northumberland coastline. It’s an adrenaline-fueled mix of exploration and fun, suitable for adventurous spirits of all levels.

🚣‍♂️ What to Expect

We begin our journey in the historic harbour of Craster, paddling a short distance in easy-to-use sit-on-top kayaks to Adventure Gulley.

Once there, you’ll:

  • Climb rock faces and navigate coastal gullies

  • Leap from rocks into the sea (jumps are optional but exciting!)

  • Try kayak surfing and reef exploration (conditions permitting)

We aim to capture the fun in photos and share them on our Facebook Page, although this depends on weather and conditions.

📅 Availability & Session Times

Our Kayak Coasteering season runs from Easter Bank Holiday Weekend through to the end of October.

  • Morning sessions: 10:00 AM

  • Afternoon sessions: 1:30 PM

  • Duration: ~3 hours (including time for changing into wetsuits)

Minimum age: 12+
(Younger participants may join in tandem kayaks with an adult — contact us for details.)

📍 Meeting Point

Meet at our Craster base, where you’ll find:

  • Indoor changing rooms

  • On-site toilets

  • Helpful, qualified guides ready to gear you up

👥 Booking Notes

  • Minimum online booking: 2 people
    Solo? No problem — contact us to join an existing group.

  • Stag or hen party? Let us know when booking so we can assign the right instructor.

  • To check availability, click on your preferred time slot on our booking calendar.

🧳 What to Bring

We provide wetsuits and all safety gear. You’ll need to bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes with laces (e.g. old trainers – no slip-ons!)

  • Socks

  • Swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit

  • Towel for after the session

  • Snack and drink for a post-adventure refuel

🌦️ Weather Policy

Your safety comes first. All sea-based activities are weather-dependent.

If sea conditions don’t allow for Kayak Coasteering:

  • We’ll automatically switch you to Classic Coasteering (suitable in rougher seas)

  • If no activities can run, you’ll be offered an alternative date or a full refund

We’ll contact you in advance if we think the session may be affected.
