Adventure Northumberland goes west, to Keswick. Our trips include transport from the North East with pickups throughout the region. All trips include transport, services of an Adventure Northumberland guide and accommodation and specialist equipment as detailed below.

Accommodation is in a bunkhouse / hostel where you will be in a shared room. Bedding is included, but not meals. You can cook on-site or make your way to a local pub for food.

We offer a selection of experiences:

Climbing Weekend - a chance to climb with professional instructors in Borrowdale, Borrowdale has some great climbs and we can set routes to your experience. Its a great chance to transfer from climbing indoors to trad or looking to try your first multi-pitch.

You will need the following:

  • Helmet and harness (can be hired from us)
  • Rock Shoes (can be hired from us)
  • Rack and Ropes - although we will have ours which can use free of charge
  • Suitable clothes for climbing and belaying as well as waterproofs and sun cream ( It is Britain after all)
  • Food for a full day out as well as meals at Hostel / Bunkhouse
  • Toiletries and Towel

Mountain Biking Weekend - a chance to explore some of the best all mountain routes in The Lakes, all in the company of one of our experienced mountain bike guides. As well as riding some great trails we will be on hand with help and advice on how to ride and get the most from your bike.

You will need the following:

  • Bike and Helmet
  • Suitable clothes for riding as well as waterproofs and sun cream ( It is Britain after all)
  • Trail side repair kit and inner tubes for your bike
  • Food for a full day riding as well as meals at Hostel / Bunkhouse
  • Toiletries and Towel

Walking and Scrambling - a chance to explore some of Northern Lakelands finest Hills and for those feeling more adventurous a little scrambling. Mountains visited on these trips are Helvellyn, Scafell Pike, Scafell and Blencathra.
Routes include:

  • Blencathra via Halls Fell Ridge and Sharp Edge a grade 1/2 route over 4.5 miles approx. This route is steep and interesting throughout. Exposed ridge walking and scrambling with some of the best views in the northern Lakes.
  • Nitting Haws in Borrowdale a grade 1/2 route over 9 miles via Dale Head and Hinsgarth. Easily accessible ridges with fantstic views over Borrowdale.
  • Sourmilk Gill and Rabbits trod a grade 1/2 scramble over 6.5 miles approx with walks over the high fells amongst some of the grandest rock formation The Lakes has to offer.
  • Dovenest Crag, Attic cave, Intake Ridge, Outake Ridge and Ashness Gill. This route included Grade 3 scrambling. A combination of very interesting scrambles hidden in one of Lakelands most delightful valleys.

  • Suitable clothes for walking as well as waterproofs and sun cream ( It is Britain after all)
  • Rucksack
  • Food for a full day riding as well as meals at Hostel / Bunkhouse
  • Toiletries and Towel

We will supply

  • Any ropes harnesses and technical equipment that maybe required for the route.
