Then, on return to dry land, there will be mince pies, Christmas cake, and mulled wine as well as hot chocolate and marshmallows for the youngsters.

The perfect winter warmer after a trip on the river.

Equipment

We will supply the kayaks and your wet suit as well as safety equipment. We advise that you wear some clothes under the wetsuit. Shorts, T-Shirts, and baselayers are perfect.

We suggest you bring footwear that you are happy to get wet, and some snacks. shoes should have laces so they don’t float off in the water. Training shoes are ideal.

You will need a swimsuit under your wet suit and a towel to dry off afterward.

Please allow 3 hours for this activity. This will include getting in and out of wetsuits etc.

Important Note: On occasion, it may be necessary for us to amend the start time slightly. This allows us to pass safely over the tidal weir between Warkworth and Amble. Although we use tide timetables to set our schedule, local factors may from time to time affect the rate the estuary fills or empties.

Conditions

The minimum age for this activity is 12 yrs old and all children between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by at least one adult unless they have a private booking.

Weight Limits: We use a mix of single and tandem kayaks for this trip. Boats are issued based on the party make-up. We cannot guarantee that anyone will get a boat of choice. We simply don't have enough boats to do that.

The tandems have a combined weight of 200kgs and should be evenly loaded front and back. Our single kayaks have a higher weight limit of 150 kgs.

Remember you will be sitting in the boat for around 90 minutes without getting out. This is like sitting on the floor with your legs out in front of you and only a small cushion as support. If you think weight or agility may be an issue, please contact us to discuss.
