Navigation Courses

Our navigation awards are based on the National Navigation Awards Scheme and offer a choice of Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards, The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is a personal performance, non-competitive, incentive scheme for all ages to learn navigation skills and gain confidence to get out and enjoy the countryside. There are 3 Levels:

Bronze - a two day course navigating on paths and bridleway and is entry level aimed at absolute beginners.

The course is tailored to the needs of the group and we generally run with small 2 or 3 person groups.

Silver - a two day course navigating across open countryside using large natural features and is aimed at those who have either done the bronze Course or have already done some navigation on their own.

The course is tailored to the needs of the group and we generally run with small 2 or 3 person groups.

Gold - a two day training course and 2 day assessment. This is navigating to Mountain Leader standard in open country / mountains using natural features measuring 10 meters, Spurs Gullies Re-enterants and ring contours.

Please note we need a minimum of 2 on a course for it to run. We will contact you in good time if we think we cannot run it and of course refund you if we can't move you to an alternate date.
