Hadrian’s Wall, 84 miles across England, following in the steps of Hadrian’s soldiers. Mile after mile of history, this challenge follows Hadrian’s Wall trail taking in the World Heritage Site. Hadrian’s Wall has to be the most spectacular backdrop for this challenge, starting in Cumbria then travelling through the Wilderness of Northumberland before finishing on Tyneside 4 days later at Wallsend near Newcastle.
This is a self-guided challenge, supported by Adventure Northumberland staff. You will be met each day by a member of the team and each evening at the campsite.
We offer 2 versions of this trip - 4 Days and 2 Days. The itinerary is below for the 4 day trip, the 2 day trip is days 3 and 4. Starting at Crosby on Eden and Finishing at Wallhouses.
Accommodation is tented, this is not a small tent where we expect you to sleep on a roll mat on the floor. However we can arrange B&B at a small surcharge, this is £30 per person per night, in a shared room.
Tents are large spacious and comfortable, there are tables and chairs as well as a camp bed to sleep on, no lumpy hard ground.
We will make breakfast for you each morning and dinner in the evening. You will need to arrange your own travel to the start and from the finish. You will also need to arrange your own food whilst on the trail and a sleeping bag, although this can be hired from us.
Each day we break camp and move it and your equipment to the next nights stop. All you need is bag with food and clothing for the day. To help you on the way, and make sure you don’t get lost we will supply a map and a pre-programmed GPS.
